BAKING: CARAMEL CAKE

BAKING: CARAMEL CAKE

I made a very delicious cake and today I’m sharing my recipe, and this time with a video! I love to make this. It’s definitely one of my favorite at the moment. I love to have a lunchroom some day with lots of good food. I got this delicious recipe from Laura’s bakery! Let me tell you what you need.

For the crust:
– 120 gr. butter
– 60 gr. sugar
– Pinch of salt
– 180 gr. self-raising flour

For the filling:
– 60 gr. butter
– 4 tablespoons of caster sugar
– Can of condensed milk

For the topping:
– 200 gr. milk chocolate
– 60 gr. white chocolate

How to prepare the crust:

Mix the butter, sugar and salt until it’s creamy. Add the self-raising flour in portions and mix it until all the flour is wel absorbed┬áLine a greased mold with the dough. Prick holes in the bottom and fry in 180 minutes at 180 degrees.

How to prepare the filling:

Melt the butter in a pan. Add the milk and sugar. Keep stirring on a low heat until all the sugar has dissolved. Then raise the heat and keep stirring with a whisk. Bring the mixture to the boil and cook for about 10 minutes while stirring. The caramel filling is ready when it has thickened enough. Pour the filling onto the cooled cookie base and spread it evenly in the mold with a spatula. Put the cake in the fridge for a moment so that the caramel can cool down.

How to prepare the topping:

When the caramel has cooled down, you melt the milk chocolate au bain marie. Once all the chocolate has melted, remove the bowl from the pan of water. Put aside, the chocolate is warm enough and will not immediately solidify again. Put the white chocolate into a disposable piping bag and melt the chocolate in the microwave. Pour the milk chocolate into the mold and spread it evenly over the caramel. Now cut off the tip of the piping bag and spray lines from left to right over the cake. Grab a knife or cocktail stick and take it from top to bottom through the chocolate, this creates the pattern on the cake. So first down, move a bit and then up. Repeat this until the pattern on the whole cake is good. Let the chocolate harden before you cut it.
